A Good Overclock, But It Will Cost You

When compared to the ASUS PRIME series of RTX 5070 the TUF Gaming cards will cost you almost $200 more to pick up.  For that extra dosh you will get a card built with what ASUS terms military-grade components, and in the case of the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 OC Edition you will get almost a 100MHz overclock straight out of the box.  You can also bump the Boost Clock up to 2640MHz at the push of a button in the GPU Tweak III software ASUS recommends for this card.   The FPS spent a little time with the card and managed to add 261MHz to the Boost Clock and an impressive 1968MHz OC to the memory, for final frequencies of 2871MHz and 29970MHz.

The robust cooler on the TUF Gaming RTX 5070 was up to the task, with the temperatures of the card barely breaking 60C, even with their manual overclock.  The MSRP of $739.99 is a lot to invest but it seems ASUS does give you more if you pay the price.  Unfortunately that MSRP doesn’t reflect the price you will see this card sell for; maybe one day we will see NVIDIA cards selling for something near what they should, but it is unlikely to soon.
