2025 Brings An Updated Design
Yes, you’ve seen ADATA’s LEGEND 970 Pro, but not like this as ADATA have redesigned the SDD and released a new model. The biggest change is the cooling, the integrated active heatsink and fan cooling system no longer requires a SATA power cable, the fan is now powered by the M.2 slot. This not only cleans up the look but is safer as there is no way to accidentally unplug the power.
As opposed to the Phison E26 used in the non-Pro version, the LEGEND 970 Pro uses a 12nm InnoGrit IG5666 controller, paired with 232-Layer Micron TLC 3D NAND. This was a good decision as the LEGEND 970 Pro is not only noticeably faster than the non-Pro version, it’s one of the fastest drives The FPS Review have tested. The changes to the cooling don’t hurt the drive either, in a system without any fans they saw 51c for the controller and 75c for the flash, and in a system with at least one case fan those temperatures dropped to 48c and 72c.
See it for yourself here.
