It Also Has A Speedrunning Competition Where You Can Win Real Money
Boomer Shooters are quite popular among a lot of people, though not many are actually Boomers. I suppose GenX Shooters just doesn’t have the same cadence nor the double entendre. If you already have the full contents of the Humble Boomer Shooter Bundle linked to below, you could try out a brand new, not quite ready for prime time game that goes by the name of Metal Eden. The game will be released on Steam on May 6th but there is a demo you can try out for free. It’s a single player UE5 game, no worries about lobbies or dealing with people online, you play on your own and it’s your call if you want to record it for a chance to win part of a $1000 prize pool being offered by speedrun.com.
The Steam reviews are a little mixed, they like the overall gameplay but are a little annoyed by the fact you can’t disable motion blur nor mouse acceleration. That might be enough to turn off many potential players, so it might be worth a quick try just so you can honestly post a quick Steam review of it suggesting those two features aren’t a small omission. There was also mention that DLSS and FSR make the game feel floaty, but as the minimum requirements of a GTX 1070, RX 5700 or Arc A580 suggest you may not even need to try upscaling.
Rock, Paper, SHOTGUN posted a couple of thoughts, or you can just head straight to Steam to try it out.
